National Deaf CAMHS
Occasionally some of our learners need specialist support for their emotional and mental health that is in addition to what we offer from within our own therapy team. When this happens, we liaise closely with parents and carers to identify ways to secure this help promptly and effectively in order to ensure optimum outcomes for those children and young people in our care.
Where referral to National Deaf Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (NDCAMHS) is indicated, we liaise closely with parents/carers and with the relevant CAMHS teams throughout the referral and assessment phase. Thereafter, we work collaboratively to offer ongoing support for the referred young person and their families.
Typically, we work alongside the Maidstone (Kent) branch of NDCAMHS, but we also have excellent links with their other satellite centres based in London and Cambridge.
