I am proud to introduce Hamilton Lodge School and College, a well-respected specialist school and residential provision offering aspirational, and highly personalised education and care for deaf children and young people, including those with additional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

At Hamilton Lodge, we believe that knowing every learner well is at the heart of great education. We take the time to understand each child and young person — their strengths, aspirations, interests, needs, and experiences — so that they feel welcomed, valued, respected and empowered to participate fully, achieve highly, and thrive during their time with us, and throughout their future lives.

Our highly skilled school and residential teams have expertise in supporting learners who may lack confidence, have experienced barriers to learning or require additional support to realise their potential. We combine high-quality education with exceptional residential care, helping our learners to develop not only academically, but also as confident, resilient, and increasingly independent young people. We place a strong emphasis on communication, life skills, employability, and preparation for adulthood, ensuring that our learners are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed in employment, further education, and independent living.

Our whole-school community shares a deep commitment to our learner's success. The staff, leaders, and governors maintain high expectations and believe passionately in what every child and young person can achieve. This ambition and impact were recognised in our positive school inspection report in 2025 and our most recent residential inspection in February 2026. The residential inspection highlighted that our provision “provides highly effective services that consistently exceed the standards of good”, with the actions of the school contributing to “significantly improved outcomes and positive experiences for children and young people.”

We are registered to educate and care for learners ages 5 to 19 and are committed to continuous improvement. We achieve this by continuing to evolve our curriculum, strengthening our specialist provision, and developing purposeful partnerships with local schools, colleges, and other organisations.

We want our learners to leave Hamilton Lodge with a strong sense of identity and belonging, the confidence to advocate for themselves, and the skills and independence to take their place in society and shape their own future.
