Hamilton Lodge School

Communication, Care, Curriculum

Welcome to Hamilton Lodge School and College

Situated in the heart of Brighton, our school has educated and cared for Deaf children for over 75 years. Hamilton Lodge is a special residential through school for learners from 11 to 19 years of age with significant expertise in meeting an identified primary need of Deafness (Mild, Moderate, Severe or Profound).

We work to ensure all our learners:

  • develop a full language to support memory & learning
  • achieve their academic and vocational potential
  • be safe and confident in the modern world
  • have happy memories of their childhood and make lasting friendships
  • be healthy and resilient both physically and emotionally

The school values developed by our learners permeate everything we do.

Lorraine Slee: Interim Principal.

We are delighted to advise that we have appointed a new Headteacher.  Her name is Maree Rhodes and she has provided an introduction, which we have included below:

"My name is Maree Rhodes and I’m very excited to be the new Headteacher at Hamilton Lodge.

I’ve worked in schools for many years, and I really enjoy helping children grow in confidence, learn new things and, most importantly, have fun. I am keen to explore your ideas on what makes Hamilton Lodge great and how we can make it even better.

I can’t wait to meet you all soon!"
